I just found another Turbo Express. It had the "black lit screen" issue. I followed that thread and replaced the cap. Now the screen lights up white like its suppose to - but when I put in any games, it doesn't read them. It just stays white?
UPDATE: So I plugged a Turbo Vision into it and the video shows up just fine.. hmmm
- sound doesnt work at all, but i know how to fix that..
Any ideas?

Sounds like the HuCard slot needs to be cleaned.
-
Whats the best way to clean it?
Thanks!

I got me one of these and it worked fine.

Try putting some contact cleaner (I have a tiny bottle of deoxit) on a HuCard (enough so there's a little extra on it) then insert the HuCard and wiggle it around in there a bunch, insert, remove, insert, etc.
Has worked great for me in the past. Prolly don't want to turn it on tho until you've given it time to work it's magic and dry a little.

Can I just use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol?
-
I got the video to work! Thanks mates. Still cant get the sound right. The sound didnt work AT ALL in either the headphones or speakers. I did the mod from the sticky above and now they both work but the sound is low on each. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Did you pull off the metal shield and get all the caps under it? Been a while since I've been into an express, but if I remember right, there were some that were pretty hard to get to.
-
by replacing the video cap will it clear up the image?
-
Yeah I figured I might have to get those caps. 100uf 35v caps will work for those right?
and I replace which ones, green or blue? (I already removed one cap in the green and replaced another with the guide)

you're probably going to want to replace -all- of the caps. even the ones that haven't already failed are going to fail sooner or later.
-
Agreed. I may need to get mine all eventually replaced. So far it works fine.
-
Yeah probably a good idea. Replace all the circled ones, right? I can just use the aforementioned 100uf 35v caps?
Thanks for the tips!

The ones circled in green are all the ones related to audio. The blue ones, I'm not totally sure what they do, but it doesn't hurt to replace them as well.
