Title: Buzzing audio on RGB modded PC-Engine - any suggestions?
Post by: pforson on March 24, 2010, 09:19:35 AM
Hi,

I have recently purchased a White PC-Engine which has been RGB modded to Scart (I'm in the UK). The picture works fine but I get a low annoying buzzing sound from the audio. Has anyone else had this problem and if so do you know how to fix it? - Is it a problem with the mod or maybe the amped scart cable?

Any suggestions please - it's really driving me nuts...

Thanks in advance.
Pete

Depending on how they pulled in the audio leads, a 10uf electrolytic cap inline on the left and right audio feeds might take care of that.

I'm betting either the modder grounded the audio jacks too close the power input or poorly.  Try just running a wire from the audio jack ground (the outer silver part) to anything big and metal in the house.
