Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I'm unable to use the search function on my phone, anywho, are detailed instructions anywhere showing how to swap cords to enable a turbopad to be used on the duo?
I have an extra extension cable for the duo and would like to try this.

Just open both pads and.... swap the cable. Swapping cables between pads is a 1:1 swap.

. some turbo pads are different on the inside. I has a problem when I swaped a pad 6 w my tg controller

I must be slipping in my old age.... But you're right, the OLD STYLE TurboPads have a different pinout than the new style TurboPads. You can only tell which version you have by looking at the PCB inside the controller. The new style TurboPads are the ones that are compatible with DuoPads and Ave 6 Pads and are a 1:1 swap.

Since you want to use an extension cord instead of just swapping controller cables, you'll probably need to follow a controller pinout (http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/turbocont.htm). Best of luck and let us know how it turns out (preferably with pics).

Do not use Sting to strip the wires; use a decent quality wire stripper (tee-hee, I said stripper).

My replies to this type of comment typically result in emails from Nanto. It is with much regret that I excercise some self restraint and not comment on sloppy titties or how bad nipples can ruin good boobs.
Oh, and I believe there is even some difference in the Turbo Taps as well. 15 years ago I swapped a PCE Tap cable for the TG one in a Turbo Tap. With out soldiering, it essentially became a one controller TG to PCE converter. Two weeks ago, I scored a couple TG-16 controller cables and decided to swap the PCE cord for the TG controller cord in my 15 year old hybrid tap. The pin connector on the TG controller cord was fatter that the pin plug in the TG tap. I realized this after initially seating the cord on the pins. When I went to gently unseat the cord from the pins, the Turbo tap slipped and I bent the lasnt two pins a full 80 degrees to the right. Now, no TG tap :(

Hey Nat, what should I look for on the pcb to tell if I got a new style turbopad?
Since I am gonna try to slice the end off an extension, I don't dare open my only duopad to see what's inside. Is it stricting pinout configuration?

Ok, so I had a few minutes the other day to work on this, but have a question before I go any further....
Btw, no pics yet (I'm not at home atm)
So I chopped off one side of the extension cable, and all wire colors correspond correctly to the documents I got. The only thing the extension cord doesn't have is a black ground wire. All other wires are there.
Will it still work w/o a ground connection? Any suggestions?

Ok, I'm no electronics whiz, thus I don't know proper names of components.
The colored wires coming out of the cord attach to the white connector inside the controller...what is the technical term for this connector?
Also, these wires have grey/silver connections on the end that fit into slots on this white connector, what are those referred to? (These are what I'm looking to purchase) they are very small; and Radio Shack didn't have em that small.
I'd like to get new ones cuz they are just too small to try and remove and reuse. Any place to pick these up?
Also, there appears to be a braided shield, so I just stick it in the ground slot for proper grounding?

I'm abandoning this project. Time restraints and patience are getting the best of me.
I guess I will continue my search for a duopad, so if anyone has one (or a PCE equiv.) I'd gladly take it.
