Starting off the releases will be Ys Seven, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Ys I & II Chronicles, and the trilogy The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (mistakenly thought to be Road to the Sky by us earlier)."

Has anyone picked up Ys for the DS? Kinda off topic, but kinda not.
Looks good with the soundtrack and all, and it sells cheap on ebay. Might get it this weekend!

Ys on the ds is all sorts of a mess. Shoddy hit detection is the worst offender.

Ys DS is garbage.
I guess I'll be charging my PSP to play these. Its sort of just been sitting there for the past several months. I'll have to play these games from the Memory Stick since, if previous Falcom games are any clue, load times will probably be horrible.

I think the load times were more who worked on em (Bamco, and Konami) and their altering/"tweaking"
Having played Ys Seven, Ys 1&2 Chronicles, and the first Sora no Kiseki game load times are small to non existant.

The pack in soundtrack doesn't have Fountain of Love on it. That is dumb.
The stylus controls control like you're drunk.
The ramming system only works with the drunken stylus settings, so you are forced to use the slashy mode that is kind of "meh".
The rest of the game is basically a rehashed version of the nice remake that was on Windows awhile back.
Definitely not worth buying.

yeah man, it was a let down. I beat it same-day, and was like ._.
Offered nothing new, and less than old versions.

I've also heard that Oath, as well as the LOH's have barely any noticable loading. I'm glad I only bought Chronicles(figured it had the least amount of chance to make it here)! I hope Xseed gets the names right in the Ys games, some of the ones in the DS one were.......stupid. Gorvan the Bandit comes to mind.

Well now that xseed games will be falcom publisher i guess i should look into...getting a slim finally nect.

The NES version isn't too shabby. I like the tunes, and the controls.
Not as nice looking as SMS/TG though >_<

SMS and TG-16/PCE version def are the best, but I think the TG version is too easy.
In the TG version, you can just move one screen away and the monsters will regenerate. This makes it really easy to collect EXP points and level up. But besides that point, it's my favorite series.
In the SMS version, you have to leave a section completely before monsters will re-gen (i.e. goto Minea then head out again), so it's harder to level up. I played the SMS version way back when I was 11 on my SMS. Fell in love with that game and got all the way near the end of the Darm Tower, but didn't know how to stop that level with the evil music playing. I somehow managed the un-managable - I got thru that level running thru the music, used some healing, and then got stuck. When I backtracked to that Luther Gemma level, I was stuck and died.
