Something you might think about. I know I'm not the only one here with an Android/iphone/blackberry.

So, how is this, guyjin?

I'd only get this if PCEfx forums work with it (I'm assuming that the forum would have to be configured to support tapatalk).

Also, since I never heard of tatatalk before, I'm the sort of person who needs a very trustworthy team of experts to officially sanction an application before I enter private information.

Yeah, I'm being dramatic, but you get the idea :)

I think this is something that is installed on the server end, not the user end.  I know you can't install plug-ins on an iPhone.  That way when an iPhone or whatever goes to the normal forum URL, it senses it is a mobile device and dishes out the mobile version of the phone.

it's both. Tapatalk is a browser specialized for reading forums on a small screen. It doesn't work unless the forum you're connecting to has the server-side stuff.

Hmmm... looks like you need to pay for the version that lets you reply to threads and posts.  Lame.

paying for software you use really is lame, isn't it?

It is when you're a L33t H4x0r like Joe.

It is when it is a very limited web browser.

Oh I'm sorry, how much did you pay for the browser you're using now?  Kindly STFU.

Unless this thing is really really awesome to use, it just sounds like a huge pain in the ass. Most phones can use this forum as-is anyway, can't they? My Sidekick can, and it was only $30.

It can, but there are several interface reasons why using Tapatalk is much easier.

New forum software will likely auto-render a mobile version in the future.  I don't know about this weird-ass SMF forum software, though.  It is probably never updated (it is already extremely outdated).  But others like vBulletin will likely do this.  No need to buy the shitty Tapatalk browser when you can get a mobile version in any mobile web browser.  Some mobile browsers auto-render a mobile version as well for increased speed.

I'm a big fan of Tapatalk.  I'd love to see the forum support it eventually.

Tapatalk is better than 95% of any other way of viewing a forum on a phone. Seriously. TNL and CAG are the only two forums I frequent that have a skin that has a better interface.

Also, it's fast.

What is so great about it when the web sites appear like normal on my phone I don't get it

its because it is fast and through it i can get all of my forum activities throughout one single app without having to load pages and pages.

It also cuts all the bullshit out of the display like sigs, ads, and stuff that take up valuable screen area on a phone. If you've got a slow connection, it's still fast as f*ck.

Maybe it's because I have an old phone, but most forums are S L O W as f*ck. This forum is one notable exception.

Speed isn't an issue on my iPhone 5. Typing into a text box too big for the screen kind of sucks though, although that's really a Safari problem.

I HAD NO MEMORY OF THIS THREAD EXISTING, but I totally want the pcefx forums to support Tapatalk (here's my pro-Tapatalk thread)

The sad news is that I emailed Aaron back when I made that thread, but I haven't heard anything.

Also, my sad little thread got very little support (one supportive comment, ha!)...

YES, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD LOVE PCEFX to support Tapatalk.  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
