Title: Playing Japanese 360 games on a USA 360
Post by: rag-time4 on July 19, 2010, 07:57:51 PM
Does anyone know up-to-date info about playing a region locked Japanese 360 game on a US system?

My wife bought me a Japanese Hokuto Musou, and I've got a red ring USA xbox i'm going to work on soon, and would like to be able to play this game she got me.

I believe the only way is to JTAG your 360.

Yes I do not know of any firmware mods that allow you to play other region games. JTAG is your only option.

A modified dashboard that allows you to run games off the HDD among other things. Lets you play burned games. Microsoft sent out an update a while back that prevented you from modding your system in this way. it was pre- nXe.

Your best bet is to just get a cheap ass japanese 360.  There is no dvd drive firmware flashing that will allow you to play japanese region games.  There is the whole JTag route but it's not really advised if you are a beginner on soldering or the system.  It can be kind of a mess.
