I recently discovered The Wayback Machine and the first thing I looked up was TZD.
It loads really slow but they have pages going back to 96' (although not much, it really picks up a few years later).
If anyone has the patience, I bet Working Designs could also be found.

 Magical Chase
 Neutopia II
 Night Creatures
 Raiden
 Sinistron
 Turrican

 Beyond Shadowgate
 Dungeon Explorer II
 Dynastic Hero
 Exile 2: Wicked Phenomenon
 Vasteel

 But Still had
 Bonk 3 SCD $29.99  Was still available in 1999 for $29.99 http://web.archive.org/web/19991013024629/tzd.com/prices.html

Soldier Blade $29.99  Was still available in 1997 for $29.99 http://web.archive.org/web/19971014155801/www.tzd.com/games.htm

So with some games selling for $9.99 in 1996, why on earth was TV Sports Hockey still $19.99?  Does that explain why it's the cheapest sealed game you can get now?

Also, surprisingly Tailspin and Yo Bro are not listed.  Did they just miss them in their inventory, or was someone else the distributor for these games?

nice!! thanks for sharing man, i am shaking my fist at some of these prices as i should have been looking way sooner for my games... but hey, back then i bet we thought some of those prices were expensive.
-
Man that page design brings back the memories. They used that design for years and years. Makes me sad looking at those archives.

Nice work collecting those stats, henrycsc.

I think Radio Shack got their stock through TZD and I remember Neutopia II was indeed gone by Summer '97.

Now what I want to know is who the heck had the motivation and hard drive space to go around archiving this stuff in 1996.  This was years before Google's cached feature and gigabytes of disk space were really expensive.
-
Yeah, I was thinking that the whole time... Sheesh... the storage space it must have taken back then even.  It must have been research universities.  Back then there wasn't a whole lot to the internet.  By 2000 though, the storage would have needed to be incredible to keep up with everything.

I'd kinda fallen away from collecting by 1996 (bought all my US stuff by 1995 until I started collecting again this year)  I don't remember ever ordering anything from TZD except through their flyers.  Cadash was the last US hucard I needed and they didn't have it, so I gave up looking....  Shoulda kept up with it... Coulda...  Woulda....

TZD used to send out flyers with their orders that included price lists as well as the one on their site. I still have some of them.

The one of the first one of these I ever recieved was way back in '94. It had Dracula X for 80 bucks.... it was just plain with price listings on it. It has some art but no in game images or anything of that nature.... I surely recieved atleast one before that one, ah hell maybe it was after.... not sure. It was a long time ago hehe
-
Not sure if this is the oldest one I have (because it mentions the website) but I think it's significant because it talks about NEC pulling the plug on the Hardware.  Sad Times.

I wonder how many people would have jumped on the "3 for $49.99" deal for Bonk 3, Bonk 3 CD and SAZ if they'd known what would happen to prices for those games down the road.

I actually remember that deal, but I didn't buy into it at the time because I already had all 3 Bonks and Air Zonk on cart.
-
Yeah, I think by the time that deal came out I was only missing Bonk 3 SCD and didn't want to get stuck with duplicates... LOL
