why the hell is the U.S. duo tap white, and the import is black?
-
It's just like one of the Japanese ones, and since the Duo uses the same controller port as PCE, maybe it was easier just to sell Japanese taps with different packaging? This is kind of annoying when you don't own one or have one for awhile, but it shouldn't bother you much at all after awhile. I am curious why TTi decided to use the PCE controller port for the Turbo Duo instead of the Turbo Grafx 16 controller port. Again maybe because the Turbo Duo is very similar to the PCE Duo that it was easier to use the PCE controller port.

yeah, the only reason i brought it up, was because i could have swarn i saw that the import tap was black, not white to match the R.
oh, i just double checked. i was getting it confused with the turbotap. by the way what is a good price for the duotap. i found a new boxed one for $49, a little high right?

More than a little, that person should be put in prison for robbery. TZD still has them up for sale on their site for 19.99 and all their stuff is new.
-
Yeah I got mine for about $20 complete. I think there is a site somewhere that sells Japanese ones for really cheap.
-
Yeah its always bothered me that those things are white. Maybe to match the white PCE? But anyway, yeah, I have no idea what to do about it except use the black Turbo Tap instead of the Duo tap. Then you run into the adaptor issue.

If you're really desperate, you can take it apart and spray paint it. The Turbo Grafx 16 logo (or was it an HE logo? I'm too lazy to check mine) would still stay since it's just engraved on the plastic. Not a bad idea actually if you don't mind disturbing the original product. Of course I could never do that myself.

no, i gotta keep everything official.

You must be a collector like me then; good boy ;) .

you got it.

you got it.
Get a turbo tap and some reverse PS/2 adaptors. Good luck finding them in black though
