Anyone have any experience of Cafe Press? Is the quality good? No potential hidden problems if selling?
-
If you want it yesterday.
You make virtually nothing, under $1 per shirt. they will print everything, the quality is substandard. I've used them over a dozen times.
Source a local screen printing shop for good quality 100% cotton (I prefer Gildan) t-shirts. Take a look at their equipment, and then look at the price difference. Watch how much care they take in printing the screens. I have been sourcing locally for the last 3 years, and my original order is still holding up after 40+ washes and the colors haven't cracked at all or faded too terribly.
From my experience, a cafepress t-shirt will fade and crack after 3 or 4 washes.
Locally, I paid $350 for an order of 100 shirts printed, 3 colors, front and back, and sold them for $10-15 apiece.

Hmm, so clothing is out...although I was thinking more along the lines of PC Engine/PC Engine Gamer related mugs, mouse mats, that sort of thing.
-
If you want mugs, they will be made in china; the very cheap kind. I had about 20 made and they are the type you would find at the Dollar Store. The mouse pad mats are run-of-the-mill.
On the other hand, they ship to your door.. :|
In a drop of a hat or if you're in a rural area I can see ordering from here, but if you have options, your money is better spent elsewhere.
Not trying to be negative, just had several substandard experiences.

Well it's good to have feedback, negative or not. It just seemed like an easy, hassle free way of getting things done. The thought of a mug with OBEY PC ENGINE plastered all over it...
-
Don't get me wrong, that would be awesome!
I guess just start price-checking screen-printers and compare the $$/product with cafepress.
-
Count me in for one of everything :D.

i want to make got (pce cover) t shirts with obey on the back. that would be dope!!! but ill sure as hell buy one!

I have a Cafe Press shirt I had made about 5 years ago. It faded some, but not much. I turn my shirts inside-out when I was them, so maybe that helped.
