anyone else wish theyd stop recycling the old games and put out a brand new one that isnt a frigging disaster?
-
...isn't there another thread going where you are defending the latest disaster?
But yes, yes I do.

I don't see how you could call any final fantasy game a complete disaster if you like ff14.

lol basicly.

I dunno given what you've hamfisted together in that thread, it doesn't seem like you've even played the game lately and don't know what you're talking about. You just regurgitate all of your friends' bitching and moaning.
I don't really put the MMOs in with the FF series proper.
As far as single player ones go, there hasn't been a very solid one since FF9. All of the rehashes of the old-stuff are great and all, but it'd be nice if they put that much effort into a new single player game.

I never finished FFII (IV) on SNES, but I did play all the way through the DS remake. I'm not sure that I could do it again though... I'd rather finally play FFVI which I have never played more than maybe 30 minutes into... (ducks under a tortoise shell!)

I can't stand the stumpy 3D models they use on the DS at all. It is awful to stare at those models for so long. They're not cute, they're not fun.
Why didn't they just use kickass high-res sprites, or something

My favorite FF remake is FF1 on Wonderswan. It is (I think) the only one that kept the original spell system from the NES/FC one, but it has nice 32-bit graphics.

Yeah man. I really liked origins too most because the music was done bamfly.

This is actually something to be excited about. I never put the 10 spot down to play the after years (Sort of a Final Fantasy IV part 2) on the Wii Virtual Console, now I could get the game and a FFIV remake in physical software! YAY!!

Don't those look practically identical to the Final Fantasy's from the PSone days? FF 7, 8 and 9?
And if people would stop buying the crap FF games SquarEnix puts out now, I'm sure they'd try to actually put together an RPG we'd play.

They don't look anything like the FF7 8 or 9 models. I'd gladly take those over whats on the DS. The DS is like stumpy , big headed retards that have no legs. they look like weebles.
-
I'd love it if they looked like Weebles. They just look like crap.

I fail to see any major differences...

Well when you take pisspoor screencaps like that, of course not.
The FF9 models have better although still goony proportions, and dont look like they have no toes.
Look at FF8 though, or even 7. Way better.
FF7 has awesome battle graphics.

All 3D FFs look like shit, IMO, but then I just hate 3D in general.
The problem with the DS one though is that the system just can't do it, not even as well as a Playstation could. Seriously, just look at that first screenshot. Its just big lumps of crap. Its horrible. Look at their faces!

HD it is not, but at least reach=grasp.

I find that I like the new RPGs from NIS, rife with highres sprites and colorful backgrounds wayyyyyy more than 3D stuff
-
Yeah, those are great looking games.
I really enjoyed Knights in the Nightmare, speaking of new 2D. Usually I find new RPGs too complex to be fun, but KitN was SOOO complicated and WTF abstract that it basically dared me to play it. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Suposedly they are made it for PSP, but I can't even imagine that working well. The touch aspect was integral.

I never picked up the PSP release. I thought about it a few times.
Yggdra Union was a sweet PSP game. I need to go fire that motherbitch up again.
