Wow this is some big news. Dreamcast compilation hitting PS3 and Xbox 360.
Sega has confirmed that, yes, early next year there'll be a collection of Dreamcast games compiled in a single retail package and released for the Xbox 360 and PS3. A retail listing appeared in November blowing the lid on such a pack, but Sega's Alan Pritchard has since told Game Informer "We actually have a Dreamcast collection coming out soon. We are looking to bring some of the old Dreamcast games to market digitally and packaged." While there's speculation this simply means that the recent Xbox Live Arcade and PSN re-releases of Dreamcast games like Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure will be put in one box, Pritchard says "The titles are still to be announced". Those crazy kids praying for a Power Stone or Jet Set re-release, pray on!

I don't see how this is big news at all.
-
I imagine both collections will be limited by the size of a DVD. They wouldn't dare put a shit-ton more games on the PS3 version than the 360 version, those pussies.
-
I imagine it will be limited by laziness. They're just going to sell us Crazy Taxi 1 again. There's nothing wrong with Crazi Taxi 1 of course, its tremendous, but doesn't everyone have this on DC? If your copy is scratched, just buy another for $1. If your DC broke there are still the PS2, GC, PSP, XBLA, and PSN versions. Oh yeah, and Windows.
-
Imagine how awesome Crazy Taxi could be if it got rid of the shitty stock songs it came with.
-
Then you just subscribed to non-news. Lol

I think they already did that with the latest releases. If not, there is probably a fan hack of the DC version.

Screw that! the soundtrack is awesome!

Quoted for the truth. Offspring and Bad Religion FTW!!
-
Regardless of one's preference of music, those tracks are integral to the whole Crazy Taxi vibe. Love it or leave it, IMO.
-
ha ha bad religion by some is one of the greatest punk bands of all times. i suppose its cool of em to put it out. It prolly keeps our pirces down........oh wait what if they really start liking the games and then the system? ahhhhhhhhh. u cant win!!!

I would agree with you if one has played the hell out of Crazy Taxi with the sound turned on. I am not one of those people, however. I am not a big fan of the game nor a big fan of fake Wolfman Jack (or at least it didn't quite sound like the real WJ to me).
-
Good grief, they skipped over the Saturn, how bout a Shining Force 3 collection?
-
You have to REALLY like a Saturn game to want to port it, which is why its very very rarely done. DC games are way easier to port.
-
I am still waiting for SEGA to release a proper N.A. version of Shenmue II for the Dreamcast!
-
Indeed, though, shamefully, I haven't even finished the first Shenmue, along with a trillion other games!

I found it to be a rewarding gaming experience. :)

I found the 1st one to be a bit of a chore, as amazing as it was. The 2nd one basically fixed everything wrong with the 1st one and pretty much blew my mind. I played the last 7 hours or so in one marathon stretch, which isn't like me at all.
I bought the EU DC one from EB for $40 when it first came out, emailed myself my save file, manually hex edited it, and emailed it back to myself so that it would transfer to the different region of game. If I were to play through this again I'd probably just buy an EU copy of Shenmue 1 to make it easier.

I bet you there is only going to be like 6 DC games on that multi - game disc for 360.
There are WAYY more than 6 good dc games.. and besides it will just have the wrong feeling.. (plus wrong emulation)
Probably why I have 3 dc's , just incase one dies one of these years.
I have bought a few remake/ emulated games on 360, the best ported feel was Castlevania :Sotn. everything else had black bars around or just felt wrong.

Correction, there's only 4! 4 games that probably every DC owner has, along with people who have a GC or whatever else these games also came out on:

It's worthless for me, here's hoping for a 2nd collection.

well I gues ya would kinda figure they would choose the most popular games.
-
Two of which were already ported...
So, like I said, limited by laziness.

Gay.
Shemue I/II compilation would be awesome -- they can probably squeeze both games in on one disc.
And I'd seriously go out and buy a 360 (or a PS3) if they released a physical release of VOOT with online matches and all.
(Hell, I'm already committed to buying the 360 next time I visit the US just because of the VOOT XBLA version, but I'd loooove a physical disc...)
