If I were going to try to get into a MMO, I'd do DC Universe Online.  That is the first of that type of game to even get me to consider...  but, I probably won't do that either.

No.

Improper use of quotes implicating me as an FFX1V user. Fixed for your accuracy :D hahaha

When posting while mobile, sometimes errors happen.  However, I'm going to keep the post as is, just to show your love for the game you don't even know you have.

I wouldn't mind giving it a try, I havent played an MMO since FFXI (and I didnt play much of it!)  The only MMO I'd REALLY like to play again is Motor City Online... but alas I cant because they shut the servers down :(

Oh it was a lot of fun at first. Once the newness wears of though, there is not much there to keep you playing. It's not just the lack of content, but the long drawn out feeling everything has. I say this having put maybe 100 or so hours into it.

I've been playing since before day 1.  So far I have been running around flailing like a wackjob.  I have 3 characters..

2 cat whores and an elf!

The servers seem to be growing.  Cornelia is one of the fuller servers right now.  Reviews are becoming more positive also.  THINGS ARE LOOKING UP

This one here is for arkan.  Seeing as my spelling and grammar suck im going to quote someone ells on exactly how i feel and what i meen with how iv been acting about 14 and why i dont like it plain and simple.

" YOu missunderstood me and at time of rage.

I don't consider XI a failure, I played it for many years and continue to play it occasional. but it never reached the subscriber rate that SE or SOE intended. What I meant was, that the way things are going, XIV is going to do worse than XI, and with a budget 50x larger than XI, that would be a travesty and an embarrassment.

There's some equation out there, the larger your MMO subscriber base, the more money you can spend on continued development and maintaining quality.

I believe that XIV is an unfinished game and offers little fun content at the moment. I believe that if the game wasn't free to play at the moment, that almost no one would be playing.

My response was supposed to mean that if it's currently a chore to play with little to no content, and in not playing it now you will be "behind"; then the game will do very poorly. There shouldn't be added stress for new players, especially upon PS3 release that they're "behind." The game should feel fun and offer engaging content to players of all stripes, new and old, of any level.

I feel that if the game is terrible to play now, players shouldn't be pressured into playing to wait for the game to become fun just so they don't feel behind. If you currently find the game enjoyable then more power to you, I consider myself a diehard square fan and Its hard for me to stand by this product, let alone recommended it to anyone in it's current state.

Sure the patches have helped some, but it's still miles away from what it needs to be to reach successful subscriber numbers. I almost feel like the only reason I continue to play is because I'm wanting the game to succeed so much it hurts, that I'm having to bare with it, and continue this "paid" beta testing.

Don't get me wrong, as I've said many times I want this game to be a success, but I'm worried that with the reviews already on the table and the damage done it may already have suffered irreparable face damage. Success to everyone is different.

If XIV ends up with 50,000 subscribers and you enjoy the game then I'm glad for you, but I won't be apart of a game that SE pushes to the side and decided to half ass future updates because internally they would consider it a waste of money due to the low subscriber numbers.

This is why I'm worried. Everything they do now will effect the future of XIV, it's content, it's success rate, it's life expectancy. Everything. I only get mad and voice my complaints because I have such high expectations and don't want to be let down again.

tl;dr: shut up, I'm on your side"

Im glad you find the game fun more power to you just stop making fun of me all over the forrum for voicing my oppion  about my dislike for many resonson becouse maybe i dont want it to fail but  as i quted from someone ells do to my bad english.  There realy isnt much content at all when i say more conent more content and things enjoyable for all levels not just people at rank 50.  The only thing thats ever going to change my oppion and get me to even consider trying this game at this point with how long they have taken to fix witch i still thing in its current state still needs is see how the game is after ps3 copy comes if i evn still care at that point thank you now go make fun of someone ells on the forum.

Quoting someone else means you donno wtf you're talking about.

The games wonderful.  I have gotten 6 people to try it out and they all love it.

A new update just came out yesterday further improving it.  A letter from the new crew solidifies the fun that is coming.  The game has had ALOT of improvements in 6 months.  At launch it was still great, and now it has only gotten better.  The games very crowded right now to the point they had to up the spawn rate in dungeons so people had fair chances to fight things.

Lots of interface upgrades have been added too.

and now they are talking about adding more quests, tweaking classes to make them more unique, and adding lots of gear.

Great news!

Also, this is standard for ANY MMO EVER.

Launch--->Crying by the masses--->improvements--->content released in waves---->go back to Crying and repeat until the MMO dies.

No MMO was ever perfect at launch except for Ultima Online.  Anyone who expected FF14 to be a WoW killing, utterly perfect sequel to FF11, on launch day, is a f*cking moron and should be hit in the face with a 2x4.

Nobody expected it to be perfect, but I think it was decidedly less than acceptable. I'll give it a shot again one day, but for now the taste of feces is still in my mouth.   If they one day announce that they're going to start charging for it (maybe around the time of the PS3 launch?) I'll give it a good solid chance again at that point.

It's a MMORPGQ7M4# and not on the Turbob, so it's barely worth discussing in the first place....

If we all say that you're correct, geralds, will you finally shut the f*ck up?

I haven't played the game and never will, so I don't particularly care one way or the other about your opinion.  What I do have a problem with is your inability to shut up - if you don't have something new and intelligent to bring to the discussion, then you're better off keeping quiet, as spouting the same tired horseshit ad naseum just exposes that you're a bitter troll.

Watched a few youtube videos today, and still nothing happening for me.  Maybe if the game were free, and they added in-game ads or something, that would make more sense.

The core game dropped to like 30$, and its on freetrial9000.  I havent been charged since september...

so you get to partake and give input as they slowly make changes.

The dev team gets on the forums and posts and asks players what they're into and what they'd like.

Its a pretty nice setup.
