Title: Pc engine duo buying advice
Post by: CraZyP83 on February 14, 2011, 05:00:35 PM
I'm looking to buy a duo and wanted to know what model is better the duo, duo-r, or duo-rx and how much should I pay for one that is pre region modded?

First, welcome :)

Second, there have been some recent threads that address the DUO / -R / -RX issue (I'll let others point you in the right direction).

Yeah I just saw those threads.  I found pre region modded duos for $169 US and Duo-r's for $229.  Is that a fair price?

Yes, I would say those prices are more than fair.   :D

The best is the R or RX.

If its an original Duo and its had all its capacitors replaced then its as good as the Duo R or RX. If it hasn't had this work, then I'd avoid it because it probably will need it soon.
