Mines is MENACE II SOCIETY
the movie is old but the blue ray is new. Not much has changed in the urban cities since this movie came out back in 1992.

Dawn of the Dead original, looks awesome in HD.

I'm up in the air about Blu Ray. I've seen a few movies in stores. An example would be Pirates of the Caribbean on a nice Sony HD TV. The thing is the image was probably the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It looked almost like real life.
But I'm standing there looking at Jack Sparrow and the pygmy guys and it just sort of looks like a bunch of grown men wearing make-up. It totally takes away the "movie magic".

Tron Legacy.
It doesnt need to be out for it to be my favorite.

Try not to put too much stock in movies running on displays in stores. Yes, Blu-ray is awesome and many TVs are awesome, but the stores don't usually set everything up properly. Some just plug 'em in straight outta the box with the default settings on everything.
Anyway, I like too many Blu-rays to have a favorite yet, but I do love Nightmare Before Christmas.

Right now, we've only got about 10 blurays.
Best looking so far were Fellowship of the Ring and Scott Pilgrim.
:D

I must say I dont know why they put Highlander 2 on Bluray. Well, actually I just wish they would have cut out ONE 2 second frame.

Come on, on bluray this looks SO FAKE. especially IN YOUR FACE on a huge tv. I could not beleive THIS was in a highlander movie. (subway scene)

Yeah, I use to work at a BestBuy (Geek Squad I know I know) and I know stuff is often not set up properly and looks awful. Like I said the stuff I have seen is truly amazing quality. I guess my impression so far is I'm on the fence as if I would enjoy it for watching movies, but would love for things like nature documentaries, cartoon/animation, etc...

Blade Runner Final Cut set. :)

I'm going to have to agree with this, but mainly because I haven't see Grand Prix on BR yet.
The problem with a lot of BRs is that they they try to smooth out the film grain in the mastering process to satisfy...stupid f*cks, frankly, and the end result is some really awful looking shit. Of course the newer all-digital stuff doesn't have that problem, but none of my favorite movies are from that era yet.

They may be part of what I have seen. It seems like instead of just a Hi-Def version of a the film print, it is Hi-Def processed version, and in the case of Pirates for example, it's amazing clarity, but ends up looking more like ultra smooth "video" than "film".

Scott Pilgrim was really good. Michael Cera is Hollywood's savior.

Ong Bak 1 is one of the best action movies of all-time. It is too bad parts 2 and 3 suck.

"The Thing" (John Carpenter) -- Admittedly, I do not have a BR player, nor have I seen too many BR films, but I was absolutely loving the BR release of this film. It was fantastic--almost as good as the first time I watched it (when it scared the cr*p out of me: I was 6-7 years old, my grandparents fell asleep and I kept watching whatever HBO played...thankfully, I was treated to John Carpenter's masterpiece).
Anyway, from the opening panoramic shots to the close-ups of the gnarly beard of our beleaguered Kurt Russell, it looked and sounded fantastic.
