Hi all,
New to the forum. I'm considering getting an RGB modded Duo-R. My question is that the seller offers either a European SCART cable or a Japan SCART cable. I'm not sure which would be of more use to me here in the US. I may someday get an XRGB, making the J-SCART necessary, but I'm not about to plock down the cash for one of those any time soon. The monitors/televisions I'd be hooking the system up to all have either VGA, HDMI, or component video inputs so I'd need to get some sort of SCART -> (HDMI/component/vga) adapter also. Are those adapters usually made for European SCART pin-outs?
Thanks for any advice!

I recommend going with the scart pinout. The scart -> component transcoders are a lot cheaper than an xrgb, and even if you do one day acquire an xrgb, you can always build your own scart to japanese rgb adapter cable. Its just a matter of switching around a few pins on the male end of a male/female scart extension cable.
Hope this helps and enjoy your new Duo-R console! :D

Thank you! And thanks incrediblehark for the advice. That sounds logical. I'm just not familiar with SCART anything.

Well I bought one of doujindance's modded Duo-R machines off ebay. He offered to give me the Japan RGB-21 cable in addition to the euro SCART cable for a small extra fee. (just incase I ever decide to get an XRGB). Can't wait!

Does doujindance do good quality work? I've considering buying one of his mods myself.
