Title: Interest in refurbishing Turbo Expresses?
Post by: D-Lite on August 30, 2005, 10:37:45 AM
There is the potential that I may be able to take your working Turbo Express, with sound issues is OK, but screen must work, and turn it into a "new" system.  Meaning, I put the innards of your TE into a brand new case with new screen and also include the box, packing styrofoam, and manual, all new.

What would be a good price for such?

You have a Turbo Express that's "used".  You want a new Turbo Express instead.

You send it to me.

I pull the insides out of it and fix the sound if needed (but not the video, that must work).

I put the innards inside a brand new Turbo Express case with new screen.

I put the TE inside a new box with new styrofoam and include the new, bagged manual.

That's all :)

If by normal, you mean like new, then yes  8)

The only part I need is a working PCB.  The screen and controls and case are all brand new.

Do you have a stockpile of these things, or something?  :)

Are the new screens made of glass?

Exactly the same as the original ones.  These are from original TE's that have a board problem causing the video to not work.  The problem is not the screen itself, so the rest of the unit can be salvaged.
