the sega saturn classic will be heading to XBL hopefully later this year with online co-op

I also own it, but I am very happy it is going to be on XBL. This is my favorite game on the Saturn, and easily a top 5 game of all-time, it is an absolute classic. I play all of the time still, and it will be awesome to get some on-line co-op going.
I hope they add the battle mode too, and that they still have the code to unlock all of the characters for use. There is nothing better than a high level coughing old man vs. a low level dragon fight.
Finally, if they added anything to the game at all, a new stage or character or something... I would likely make love to my 360.

I already own it as well and have always been kind of underwhelmed by the game. The XBLA version looks like someone took the Staurn version into Adbone Illustrator and Live Traced the entire screen. It looks really bad. I wish they would have just redrawn the sprites and BGs. Then it would be awesome. But apparently I am out of line for daring to ask waaay too much.

Man, I really hope Treasure hasn't been reduced to an XBLA port company. I really want to see that original shooter Hiroshi Iuchi was supposed to be working on for 360.

I miss the old Treasure. I thought that company formed cause they were tired of doing sequels for Konami? Now all they do is sequels or XBL ports. It kinda saddens me. This has been one of my favorite companies since first playing Gunstar Heroes on the MD. I even loved McDonalds Treasure Island. The last original non sequel game I think they've done was Rakugaki Showtime. It's nice to see Guardian Heroes getting some love again, but good lord it's one more reason HD TV's are the devil for classic 2D gaming.

I guess this is good and all, but I can't help wonder who the hell this port is for. If the multi-player ends up adding all sorts of fun, then that's obviously going to justify it, but seriously...this was a game that was considered EXTREMELY rough looking in SD when it it came out 15 years ago. Anyone who gives a shit about "HD" isn't going to be satisfied by these visuals.
I guess those dipshits that can't resist the urge to sell off anything in their collection that is more than two years old will now have a chance to own it (and sell it) again.
BTW, still rocking import copy I bought used for $15 in the 90s. One of the greatest games of all time.

I bought this game within a month of its original release. I can happily say I am the original owner of over 90 Saturn games I bought new. This arguably being the best of the lot.
Once this comes out, we need to do some 6 player Randy's dog fighting online.
