I'm thinking of getting a Sanwa stick for my Dreamcast arcade stick, but I also picked up a knackered looking Avenue 6. I'm thinking of sticking it in there, wiring up the contacts to the buttons and stick, and having an extra lead poke out.
Won't have autofire, and it might look a tad ugly, but what do you guys reckon? Would it work?

It would probably work fine, just not at the same time :D The PCE uses 5v held high via some resistors for the button presses, whereas some controllers just use switch to ground. I'm not sure about the Dreamcast, but it shouldn't cause any trouble.

Sometimes having two boards in a stick causes issues since the board that isn't in use can cause shorts with the board that is in use.
You can certainly try it, but I recommend putting a swappable d-sub in between the buttons and the PCE board so it can be disconnected entirely.

:-k Nice, that's some good stuff to consider. I was also thinking of building some kind of adaptor for other systems, since if it's modified with the Sanwa, it will possibly become my best stick.
