Hi there..
I am an old TG-16, Turbo Duo Gamer.
I have had a TG-16 and Turbo Duo, but parted with them a long time ago. I had a TG-16 in 1994 but sold it and also had a Turbo Duo in 1995 but sold it when I was in the Marines (many moons ago).
At any rate, I picked up a TG-16 Boxed without games.
I am looking for a TG-CD and some games now, both Hu Card as well as TG-CD, Super CD and Super Arcade card enabled CDs.
With that said, I need some games!
I am in the market for the Bonk Series CIB, Alien Crush & Devils Crush (without box is ok)
I am also in the market for a TG-CD boxed.
Additionally, I m looking for a Hu Card Converter for Arcade card enabled games, e.g Kisado, chopsado.
If you have any of these let me know!
I am also a member in good standing on Nintendoage.com

It would be cheaper and more convenient to just buy a PC Engine Duo R or Duo RX system to play all CD games and Japanese HuCards. Both the Turbo-CD and converters are generally overpriced and it's better not to fool around with a converter if you want to play Super CD or Arcade Card games.

I may just do a region mod for the TG-16.
What is the issue with the TG-CD gears?

What is the issue with the TG-CD gears?
The issue is that the CD-ROM drives have a gear in them prone to wearing out. The Duo-R and Duo-RX systems are generally known to be more reliable than the older CD-ROM systems or the original black Duos. I second Black Tiger's recommendation.
Also, just want to point out that the first two bonk games are included on the US version of Gate of Thunder, so you can save a few bucks that way, though I totally understand if you want boxed collector copies of the turbochips.
And by the way: Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the forums, mega. :)
Listen to Black Tiger and rags. You really are better off getting a Duo R or Duo RX console, rather than messing with the TGCD and converters. And like rags said above, even the US black Duos are quite unreliable, as the sound usually, if not always, craps out on them. You can always get a TGCD unit down the road for nostalgia's sake, but for starting out the Duo R really is your best bet.

I'm a newbie here as well, but I agree on the Duo-R/RX recommendations. It seems like there is a plethora of problems with the US Turbo hardware, from capacitor plague to the gears wearing out on the CD assembly. The route I went with was a US TurboGrafx16 for US HuCards, and a Duo-RX Japanese HuCards and all CD games.
I'm thinking about modding my CoreGrafx though for both regions, since that way I'd have a nice tiny box for all my HuCard needs, and could leave the RX in it's original form.
