Title: RRGGHH... Still no Arcade card from Game of Japan
Post by: soop on May 20, 2011, 10:18:36 PM
Hit Japan is amazing... But the first thing I order from their counterpart GOJ, I haven't recieved it.  It was posted over a month ago, on the 20th of April, and I'm starting to think I'll never see it.  The stuff Hit Japan sends always gets here within a week or so.

I'm a bit put out by this.

Actually, I just thought, there is a ray of hope.  My paypal address was set to my parents house, so they may have sent it there.

I think most sellers send it to the paypal address. Also customs takes random packages for inspection which could delay delivery for some time.

well we can hope, but a month is pretty much "never going to see it".  My mom is bringing over the mail in a minute, so we'll see, but it doesn't sound like it's there.

My only hope is that it's held up in customs, but even so, While I don't know I can't go and order another in case I end up with 2.

If it's not there, I think you'd be allowed to complain by now. Might even get them to send it to you quicker.

It wasn't at my moms.  Well, I'll email them, but they could just assume that I'm some no-body trying to scam them.  While I've given Hit-Japan £100s, GOJ don't know me at all.  Hardly a valued customer.

In your email, make sure you let them know your Ebay ID.  I have dealt with them a lot, and they have never failed to come through.

There's a prety easy way to find out if a package got delivered to it's end destination, as far as I can know from my own experience. Depends on how they sent it.

True. But I don't see why an Arcade Card would be sent by sea mail. It should have just been 1st class, and it should take about a week.

I'm sure it will show. This company has never screwed me, or, as far as I know, anyone else.

I've placed about a dozen orders with them over 3 years, and I've never had a problem. If you contact them about any order problems, they will fix them. One time they forgot to include a LaValeur manual, and the next order they sent it along and were very apologetic.

Yeah, those guys are excellent. If anything, customs is having their way with the package. I've had stuff take months to arrive (not from them, specifically, but from the Orient in general) and I'm right here on the west coast. Just a stone's throw across the water!

Customs is playing sapphire finally with your arcade card and other PCE stuff they've confiscated from other Hit Japan orders

Not from Hit Japan, but I had a small airmail package from Japan to the US that took about 3 month to arrive.  I though it was lost forever after 2 month of waiting and ended up ordering the same item again.  The 2nd order arrived in 2 weeks.  Later, I was surprised that the first order even showed up.

Not sure why it took so long, the package was posted on the correct date but was stamped damaged....there was no apparent damage at all.

Give it a little more time, it should show up sooner or later.

yeah, like most people here have said, just be calm. Im sure it is on it's way. I have seen this topic on ebay forums SO many times when an item doesnt arrive when expected. Than a few days (or weeks) it arrives. Don't worry, I'm sure it's on its way. Blame customs or the mail service, but Hit-Japn (reliable!!!) is probably not the one to blame. Let us know WHEN you do get it!  :D
what arcade-games are you about to play? sapphire? or...?

^ me too.

Yeah, the thing that worries me, is that if Hit Japan stuff arrives in actual days (sometimes faster than stuff from my own country), then it's weird that GOJ stuff isn't here after a month.

I'm waiting to play Garou Densetsu and my Saphire bootleg that Blue sent me :(

Well!  It came yesterday!  Quite a coincindence.  Had a lot of problems with it though.

1.  Garou Densetsu takes a long time to load, doesn't it?  Wait, no it's not loading at all.
2.  Reposition card.  Take ages to even get the CD-ROM screen working again.  Maybe it's not that.
3.  Try Saphire.  This is taking a long time.
4.  Try Saphire without the card in.  Same screen.  Looks like it's not recognising the card.
5.  Panic a bit when I think I've bought a Super rather than Arcade card.  Come to my senses.
6.  Try Saphire again, and finally get a loading screen.  Decide the intro is decidedly post modern
7.  Game starts and looks a bit the same.  Realise there should have been something in the boxes in the intro, so something's still not working
8.  Try Garou Densetsu again, which works.  However, it's not very good, and Mai's boobs don't jiggle.

So... as far as it go, I hae a nearly-working Arcade Duo.

Try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol.  I clean all my Hu-cards before using them.

A pencil eraser does a great job of cleaning Hucard contacts. Try that next if the alcohol doesn't do it. It's basically a big memory card, and having a good connection is important with system cards.

I tried the eraser already, but there was actually some gunk on the end of the card.  I'm pretty sure I'll get it working.  I usually find with Hu Cards, that if they don't work straight away, they get better and better.

The worse I had was Power League 4 and Tower of Druaga, I tried them about 15 times each, but now they work first time every time.

maybe Mai's boobs will jiggle now that the contacts are clean
