I'm playing through Nightwolve's awesome Ys I&II Eternal translation, and it rules. I downloaded the music change .rar also but I'm having some mixed feelings about it. Some of the choices are better, but oddly enough I actually enjoy a few of the stock tunes better. For example, I think the stock First Step Towards Wars is better than the old PC Engine version because it just sounds meaner, the hard synth is more pounding and I think fitting of the song. Anyway, the guy did a great job on the package, but I wish I could keep the old First Step Towards Wars and a couple others and just use the rest of the package!

I perfer PCE version of the Y'S 1&2 music myself.
My second choice is Y's Symphony gota love that orchestra take on the, Y's 1&2 music.
Btw i realy wish, Falcom would release a... box set with all music from Y's on it.
I still haven't got a chance to pick up, Y's 1&2 enternal yet so dunno.

I still prefer the TGCD version soundtrack WAY more than Eternal's, although there was a new track on Eternal that sounded nice. First Step Towards War does sound nice as well on Eternal (one of the few that can actually stand up to the TGCD soundtrack), but I can't say if it's better or not because it just doesn't have the classic touch to it like the TGCD version did.

OK, forgive me for being slow: how do I get the sound track to Ys Eternal? And what format is it in?

Steve if you email me fistofgod@comcast.net I can zip it up and mail it to you or send you a burned copy. Or if you want the real thing it's on the second disc of the Ys 1&2 Complete PC game, that's where I got, it's really cool cause the entire thing is in wave format. Also, here's where I got the alternate soundtrack-

You have to register for Fileplanet, but it's free and takes like 10 seconds so no biggy.
