For anyone who cares, Robinson's Rectum is now up for pre-order thanks to Songbird! I ordered it, though, when I played it years ago on the 3DO, I don't recall caring about it. Maybe I'll pick up the 3DO version for comparison.

edit-Order before friday June 3rd & get $10 off of the retail price.

Is this the official sequel to David Robinson's Supreme Court on the Genesis?

Oh, & "the regular price for Robinson's Requiem is $59.95, however as a thank you to all the dedicated Jaguar fans who have supported Songbird for a dozen years, the price is only $49.95 through Friday, June 3rd, 2011."

I'm sure this is exciting for Jaguar CD owners, but I can't help thinking of the AVGN episode where he spent $400+ ordering two different CD units so he could review a Jag game and neither of them worked, even after repair attempts by a technically-minded friend.

Heh, I remember busting out my Jaguar CD after watching that to make sure it still worked (it did). And that was the last time I've used my Jaguar CD in years.

How much did the jaguar cd system cost back in the day?.Like $200 0r something?.Its cool to see games still being released for jaguar. How many people actually have the cd system though.
-
That's a good question. Hardly any, I'd imagine. Where I'm from, the Jag was already dead by the time the CD addon/system came out. Most stores had already stopped carrying all Jag stuff, so it didn't even make the display. The one store where I saw it only had it on display for a few months, after which they got rid of everything Jag related.
That said, it's cool that people are still making games for it. I don't know about this title, but I bet the homebrew stuff is better quality that most of the junk that was released.
-
I don't think this particular title is very good. It's supposed to be a really neat concept, but, well, I'll see when I get it. I played it 10+ years ago on 3DO & don't recall liking it.
My area did get some Jag CD's BITD, & I could've got it uber cheap at Software Etc., but, at the time, I wasn't buying Jag stuff. I was all into buying all the clearance 3DO stuff at the time, which consisted of most games selling for around $2 at Software Etc., Babbage's, TRU, & Best Buy. I was eating that stuff up left & right. But, I did finally get a Jag, & later a Jag CD at Game Dude for maybe...$30 or 40 each?

'92-96 was a pretty awesome stretch of years, with the SMS, Lynx, TurboGrafx, Jaguar, 32X, Sega CD, Virtual Boy, and 3DO all hitting the bargain bins. You don't see deals like that when consoles reach an intentional phase-out. Of course, these deals were accompanied by the loss of great companies from the game market.

I have the Jaguar CD system, but like most people I didn't buy it when it was new. I remember waiting to find it cheaper. The Electronics Boutique near my house had it for a while, and it and all their other Jaguar merchandise just disappeared shortly after the N64 came out, about two years later I bought a brand new Jaguar CD from VGLQ.com

I don't recall seeing any SMS stuff in the 90's, that stuff disapeared, I recall it being barely there in 87' when I got my NES. Man, what would've been cool is if they were putting Neo Geo stuff on clearance, that would've rocked!
Also, I just realised why I didn't buy that cheap Jag CD at Software Etc. They didn't have anything else, not the cartridge system, no games, nothing, so I just couldn't get myself to pick it up at the time.

Got my SMS II at Toy's R Us for $50 in July '92. All the games were $10-20 - not a steal, but still a good deal. (I got Ys and Golden Axe for $20 and Time Soldiers and Kenseiden for $10, but didn't take Phantasy Star for some reason...Sonic was sold out). That Winter my friend reported that the bargain bin at KB Toys was full of SMS games, but I couldn't convince my parents to drive me twenty minutes north.

You spent $59.95 on a game you don't like?
That's a lot of money for non-oBey. Do you collect Jaguar or something?
I only really Liked Alien Vs. Predator.
-
My favorite game on the jaguar was that one where the jaguar roars at you.
oh wait that was just the splash screen.
-
Flip Out! on the Jag was crazy fun.
I thought years ago SongBird was planning on releasing Super Fighter on PCE SCD!
What ever happened to that project?
-
Doesn't Brandon Cobb own SF rights now?
Ask him?
He seems to only be hip to making cart games. Maybe thats why.
-
Yeah, I collect Jag games, though there's a few I know I'd never be able to get myself to spend $ on. A few of them go into the hundreds, like Battlesphere & Aircars.
As for Super Fighter, to my knowledge, it wasn't Songbird, but just the Super Fighter Team that was supposed to release a Turbo version, I have no idea what happened to that, or the Turbob version of Frog Feast.
-
It got stuck in the COBBWEBB.

Oh, Ok. WoW! That's a lot of cash. Renny Blaster status.
