Title: Shinobi - trouble with Mandara
Post by: spenoza on June 12, 2011, 04:33:12 PM
Alright experts, I'm having trouble with the 3rd boss of Shinobi, Mandara. I cannot seem to take down the statues before they bump me up against the electricity and kill me. Am I missing something, here?

I have had success with trying to hit two statues at once by attacking, jumping +attacking, attacking, etc. Going one statues at a time is a receipe for disaster.

That boss has killed me every time on the SMS version over the years.  I did find this recently and it looks doable:

The boss is challenging in both the Arcade and SMS versions. I found that in the SMS version being powered up with a gun, plus the above strategy, works well. I, unfortunately, can't speak for the PCE version. Maybe one day...

Simple solution?  Use Magic instantly, then turbo-fire shuriken, and you'll do them fine.  The bad part is, you lose your magic before a difficult boss.

That's the only way I've ever managed to do it, unfortunately.

It's too bad there's doesn't seem to be a way to do it without magic. Those bonus points help for extra men.

In the arcade, I could just rapid fire shurikens for victory but there isn't enough room to do it in the PCE version. Soop is right... You have to use Ninja Magic then shoot rapidly (use turbo if necessary). Once you get through that part, the head has an easy pattern to dodge if you know where to stand.
