I came across someone's unique PC Engine Frankenstein creation on Yahoo Japan Auctions...

lol, that will break easily.

Cardboard? Really?
I can appreciate the effort put into this. . . but if you're gonna mangle a PC Engine, might as well take the time to at least case it in something sturdy.
-
It's looks like it's re-enforced on the inside (screws on the control panel), so I doubt its as flimsy as it seems. Still strange, as you can clearly see the tape holding on the outer shell for most of it.
-
That's some hefty ass cardboard though. It will probably hold up fairly well. I think it was more an artistic decision than a durability decision though. Kinda like that eco friendly furniture people make.
Not my taste though...

Awfully ghetto looking, but who'd want to be hunched over that tiny thing anyway (that's what she said)? I suspect it's mainly for show, in which case acrylic would've been the better choice, as it's nearly as easy to cut and glue together.
-
thats f*ckin hilarious.
I want it

Is that picture stretched to 16:9? I was going to say wouldn't it be crazy if someone picked that up and inside there was an LT, but now I doubt that's even possible.
Still, it'd be crazy.
-
yeah it's stretched. He's probably using one of these pop car (navi) 16:9 screens, you can get at HOs for cheap. Unfortunately, most of them do not allow you to switch into 4:3 mode.
-
Wow. Umm. Ok. Cool.
:)
-
Nice work, I want one ;-)
-
:D I like.
Be awesome as a proper Jamma though...
Heheh, I just looked at me old Street Fighter II PCB, and it's just about big enough that you could make a back-loading mini CAB/Supergun like that. So the whole back of the cab was the PCB.
-
just cover that in fiberglass and your good to go. It looks like it has quality sanwa buttons and possibly sanwa stick. Me likes!

Exactly what I was thinking. I like the design, but the cardboard is a bit tacky. If it was cleanly done with fiberglass or laminated/painted wood in white color with some red PC Engine stickers, it would be a really nice setup.

it would be the worst thing you can do to an LT if someone really converted one into a cab like this hehe

Heh. Seconded. Although, could that have been one of those mini PS1 screens that came out years ago?

I'm pretty certain the PSOne screen is 4:3. More likely to be a cheap reverse screen.
