Anybody going to Origins in Columbus, OH later this week?
-
I thought about it, but don't know if I feel like driving down there to spend more money on stupid crap I don't need...
-
Forgive my stupidity. Is this the Origins that made Ultima Online?
-
I wish I could make it. I've been wanting to go every year for the past handful and it just never works out. How come all these cool conventions happen when I've got so much work to do!? (not to mention the family vacations)

No, this is a game convention that has nothing to do with OSI.
My friends going and bringing around 10,000$ worth of painted miniatures with him, lol.
Hopefully some dorks really want high quality painted figures.

like Warhammer stuff?

geise, Origins is the second largest gaming convention in the US. GenCon is the largest. Origins used to be mainly about tabletop role-playing games, like Dungeons and Dragons, but in recent years its been branching out and covers board games, card games, collectible games, and war games as well as the traditional table top RPGs.

Cool. Thanks for the info spenoza. I never really was into the D&D and other role playing stuff. Or the card games for that matter. All my friends played them though. I was always on the sidelines haha. An outsider. 8-[

Theres anime and crap there too now, lol

Yeah, it's a pretty badass get-together for all things nerd. I wish I was going. :D

It was pretty fun. This year was themed steampunk/Victoriana. The upside was there were many attractive corseted young ladies. The downside was that there were many ladies wearing corsets who shouldn't have, or were wearing them in ways which looked more painful than appealing.
