Hi all, i present you my current projet ..
it's a pce game in ik/wotef style ..
For now level 1 is 80% done, menu 95% .
you can testing the menu, and level 1,and i apologize for low level of IA (which is in development).
All player moves are done, start/restart/end round,and many, many others are not ..
Game title is not definitive, but for now is "KARATE"
All collisions detection are not yet implemented(like low kick).
i'am planing to make 5 different levels, with bosses.each level has its own animations (only for background and master).

All is in archive (emulateur too), you have only to dezip it, and run the run.bat script ..
Controls are :
Emulator : I =f II=d run=return select=s
left ,right,up,down ..
I punch
II kick
up: up
diag left/right : forward/backward jump
down+I : low blow
up+II:kick skipped (i'am not sure in english)
up diag left/right+I: high punch
diag left/right+II: high kick
oposite direction+I+II:back kick
down diag left/right+I: low kick
up diag oposite direction+II: reverse high kick

are you going to add in an option to make the opponents pants fall down, like in IK? :)
this is pretty neat.

One suggestion...bring the men and background up a little bit, so they don't look all cramped up at the very bottom of the screen.

Ingame is the music of the first level,and is definitive ..
For now, only menu music is not definitive ..
Some other things are not definitive, like menu font .
For the game shall be provided , 5 levels,with 5 different oponants, bosses,and backgrounds .
each level is composed of 5 levels of dificulty represented by a belt color .
3 rounds to win, for power up dificulty.

One suggestion...bring the men and background up a little bit, so they don't look all cramped up at the very bottom of the screen.
just mount the image and use Ootake or magic engine. Mednafens default settings look like crap.

You must modify blur option in mednafen.cfg
open the cfg file, and search pce.vblur , you must change 1 value to 0, save, and it's all right.
I just ran it finally. Very nice screen effects. :) I like it alot.

I just loaded the .cue file in my existing mednafen rather than using the included one. :)

noo I wasn't at a computer with the means to run it (didnt know you included mednafen), lol.
but, I assume anything IK related would be fun.

I love it! Very retro, sounds like really nice chip tunes, though, I think to keep it consistent with the ingame song, I would add some layers to make it sound more organic, since the ingame music sounds like a mix of chip tunes & organic/redbook.
BTW, I also LOVE the title screen song! It reminds me of Telenet games. I could see it fitting in Psychic Storm possibly. Though, I think your title screen has much nicer drums & instruments in some cases. Probably more in line with the instruments used in Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4. It's very nice!

Ah yes, credit music was made by a french composer, fan of atari ST chiptunes ..
I love his mix of retro chip sounds and recent ..
Menu music, is another C64 remix, remix of cybernoid 2 . I love too those mix, that preserve original C64 sound .
I know that CDA musics is the simplicity, and psg musics would be far,far, better ..

I just downloaded it and copied the controller/moves list to notepad. I can't play it right now but, as soon as I do, I'll let you know what I think of it.

EDIT: Okay, Touko. I gave it a play and it looks like something that could go somewhere. The graphics are nice enough to give it that mid to late '80s look and I think that's pretty cool.
It's a bit too easy for my taste but, I'm assuming that you made it that way just for a quick, non-frustrating demo version.
I like the theme of the graphics too. It's very classic, asian fairytale, martial arts style.
I'm not familiar with Mednafen's settings so, I didn't play it long enough with that emu to give the music a good listen but, I tried it out on Yame38e which didn't want to run it properly so, I tried ME and it ran it just fine.
I see you like to play "My Brute". I used to play that a lot. After a few months, I got tired of it because of all of the glorified cheating.
Regular cheating is bad enough but, when it becomes the only way that people want to play, it just ruins the game for everyone, especially the honorable players.
I've wondered from time to time what a TG16 version of it would be like. Might be fun.

Yes for now is very easy, because IA is only at start, all moves are not yet implemented (only punch), and for now, you cannot change your direction when oponant went behind your back .
The difficulty is not set, oponant latency is very large (70 frames, more than 1second) for testing, and not regressing when you rise a level up .
Ps: you can use mednafen for testing, i think it's the best PCE emul .

You done got me playing La Brute. As soon as hit Level 7, I'm coming after you. If your Brute put's up a good fight, I'll pupil you.

IA code is 85% the same that player one .
I have only to replace IA choices, by pad2 buttons ..
In all cases, it will be finished in 2012 .

Yes is on rail
I have implemented all moves, 2 players mode, pause (lol) .
It lacks integration of level 1 boss, and the engine will be finished .
With a little time for find last bugs,lack of gameplay,and other little eyes candy adds .
At the end of this,I may do a public beta test (level 1 without his boss :P).
I have reworked on menu fonts, thet are more console now, and i must add all parts of menu,(credits, options, 1p or 2p mode, stages/players selection in 2 players mode).
Other two levels are being drawn ,on five planned.
When the level 1 is over, completion of all others, will be a piece of cake .
PS: perhaps a little overlay error game . :-"
