This topic is to discuss the Fujitsu gaming computer known for several arcade ports.

Let's start! I'm wondering what exactly is going on with my FM TOWNS II HR model when it automatically turns itself off? Does it need certain capacitor(s) replaced? If so, what exact ones usually need replacements?

I got Towns Syndrome
CX-20


never had an HR  model. could be a power (or lack thereof) problem as well. you might want to run your question on nfggames forum.

While I quite enjoy my systems I would not recommend a Towns to anyone unless they really know what they are getting into.

As for your HR I'm guessing you have Power Supply Issues.  Changing all capacitors might solve the issue, but you may also need to replace other components as well.  Nothing lasts forever.  Caps are easy, start with those.

Should I take it to a computer repair pro or do it myself?  Parents said that pros do better than you.
