Title: Cheap VR Buying thread
Post by: 780racer on July 28, 2016, 03:25:15 PM
So I have been doing a fair amount of looking into different devices, and I think I am going to take a plung on a "Non" Mainstream product.

The Deepoon E2 is pretty much a complete Copy of the Oculus DK2, including it spoofs one to be compatible with all the oculus software/game support.

I'll update this once I get them and try to answer any questions for those who want/are interested in VR but maybe don't want to spend 500+ on a headset at the moment.

Deep Poon you say?

I'll wait 'til the tech is more mature and there's content that interests me for more than five minutes, but it's good to see there's some price competition heating up.  I'd be leery of buying from some no-name company though, as I'd hate to throw away $300 on a 'cheap' VR unit and end up with a shoddy pos.

Flash sale for $215 seems reasonable if it works.  I have a PS VR on the way and I don't have a computer capable of modern gaming so I will pass, but if this actually works that is a steal.

I do hope my PS VR can be used for 3d porn too, that is my biggest concern not having one of the other headsets.

I would be equally worried as well :P

I think if the PSVR gets enough traction saleswise there will be a hacking community that pops up around adding generalized support for it to act like other devices.

I decided to hold off. Its too close to PSVR dropping. Though it is less quality than the other boys on the block from the reviews regarding pixel count.  But Ill pull the trigger on something soon...
