Title: PG Engine GT black/white picture after lcddrv mod
Post by: pimpgt on March 19, 2022, 11:25:56 PM
Thishas been driving me crazy.
I did a full recap and installed an LCDDRV.
Audio is nice and loud, but picture is black and white.
What could be wrong here.
I check the board with a microscope and nothing is bridged or missed.

How do you have it wired? Did you remove and bridge the transistor, or using an RGB amp?

I bridge it.
Funny thing is even when I remove the bridge still same issue.

I had one of these boards with the same issue and I managed to fix it by reflowing the solder around the brightness/contrast/ Sats pot on the LCDDRV, it seems they are sometimes not soldered particularly well - give that a try.

If you have a picture but in black and white with a RGB mod, it is without hesitation a saturation issue.
The wiring of your mod is OK, dont mess with it.
The saturation pot is maybe not connected or misajusted.
If you want to display all the spectrum color of your console, use the 240p test.
it will not be as good as you think (or want) but it is the best way to know if all colors of your pcengine are properly displayed.
good luck.
