Title: Sound fine on headphones but no sound on built in speaker
Post by: Nuahs3005 on June 09, 2022, 02:34:09 PM
Hi guys has anyone had a similar problem... I recapped the PC Engine GT and everything works great except the built in speaker.
I can plug in headphones and the sound is fine and the volume wheel works fine too but as soon as I remove the headphone cable the sound is not working. I have already replaced the headphone jack with a brand new Sega Game Gear one and the same result.

I have this problem a lot with GTs but it is always caused by the headphone jack. Have you tested the speaker to make sure that is working? Most likely a bad connection somewhere.

Yes, I 2nd a bad headphone jack. 95% of the time replacing the headphone jack fixes the external speaker.

The headphone port can get damaged when people solder in new capacitors and bump the back of the jack too often with the soldering iron.
