Title: Value for Cap C621
Post by: michellybells on June 26, 2022, 08:43:06 AM
(TL;DR) Does anybody know the value of cap C621 so that I can buy replacement?

Hot off the heels of my last successful repair, I purchased another Duo unit (listed as working but with sound issues) for my friend in America, with the intention of recapping it. What I discovered when I opened it up was a really amateur recap job had been done. The board hadn't be cleaned at all before or after the repair work, there were big globby cold solder joints, and really cheap Aliexpress caps. There appears to be very little corrosion, which is great, but the one issue I found is that whoever did this recap knocked C621 off the board. Any idea what I should replace it with?

Thanks, but this is one of the surface mount caps that does audio filtering, so it isn't on that list. My engineer friend was able to look at datasheets and work out that it should be 3900pF. I'm planning to try it later today.

Oh sorry, I didn't look at the board and assumed it was a typical capacitor that was missing. Glad you figured it out.
