I've been told by a source that Air Zonk and Neutopia are both coming in June. I had heard last month that Final Soldier was likely coming in June, but I haven't heard another word about it since so I'm not sure what to think about it now.
-
Cool dude, thanks for the update :D
-
Sorry I don't mean to sound like a picky moderator, but there is a forum for TG16 VC :) . I can't move threads that are in this part of the forum, or else I would've moved it already. Anyways, that's some sweet news you brought. I'm really interested about Final Soldier coming out here.
-
No I completely understand. I posted in the wrong place and I apologize for that. You had every right to call me on it. I'll be more careful next time. : )
-
Moved to correct forum.
Welcome to the forums Virtual-Turbo - hope you enjoy it around here.
-
Yo Virtual-Turbo, you sound familliar  Anyways, great news! I suspected they were coming really soon, but, Final Soldier, that just plain rocks if that comes out, which'll be another win for us who believe there will be PC Engine games released over here! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
-
I've said it before and I'm saying it again: I hate Virtual Console so much! Especially now that they're going to release Neutopia!
This could possibly mean no Neutopia 3, at least I'm not going to be involved in the project if there's even a slight chance of us (Frozen Utopia) getting into legal issues.
-
If there's legal issues, I would have no problem with us just changing names around and releasing a good game like we intended.
-
It's not like you guys will have the game done before 2017 anyway, by then I'm sure Neutopia will have been forgotten by Hudson again.

Ba-zing!
-
Actually it's coming out before the end of 2007.
....Or is it?

You're being generous, try 2119.

Well Hudson made a liar out of me. : )
They pushed back World Sports Competition to June and in its' place stuck the extremely mediocre but quite humorous JJ & Jeff. And the lineup for June is now Bloody Wolf, Dead Moon, China Warrior, and World Sports Competition. What happened to Air Zonk and Neutopia is beyond me. I know they had emulation problems with Neutopia and Air Zonk before the Japanese releases, but I thought those were corrected once the games were released in Japan. Apparently not. Dissapointing month for the VC, and makes me glad I have the real system.
Sorry for posting inaccurate information. I'm not going to post from that source anymore. He tells me that Hudson just decided to make the change but I have no way or knowing which is true.
-
Hey I personally think that Bloody Wolf, Dead Moon, China Warrior, and World Sports Competition is a pretty decent line up myself  .
-
I like Bloody Wolf, but the other three I don't consider to be too good. Dead Moon I still hate just because I wasted the $40 on it back when it was new. : )
-
What's wrong with Dead Moon?
The music isn't memorable but other than that I like it.
-
Dead Moon just plain kicks ass. It has some of the best level progressions in any shooter. 8)
-
I'm not sure what it is exactly. The game just has this overly simplistic feel to it. I own over 75 shooter titles, and it's easily my favorite genre, but I have always disliked Dead Moon.

If you added an Air Zonk-quality soundtrack to Dead Moon, that would elevate it's status from "good" to "f*ckin' awesome" in my book.

It all depends on taste, but I often appreciate games that keep the gameplay relatively simple/streamlined and am often turned off by (mostly modern) games with overly complicated gameplay that doesn't have the game design to match.
For example, games don't get any better than Plump Pop. 8)

Simplicity is the key to life.
-
Yeah tastes do vary. I like my shooters manic and intense, ala Soukyugurentai or Battle Garegga on the Saturn. The harder and crazier the better. : )
-
Dead Moon gets more intense as it goes on, but not very moment really crazy moments. The last boss is pretty insane and fast though!
-
I dislike slow shooters where your ship's gun is super weak. I just can't stand ones like that. Haven't played dead moon yet though, so can't talk shit about it yet, haha.
-
There are tons of weapons powerups in Dead Moon. So many it's almost a fault. Once you get a weapon you like, it's nearly impossible not to touch another powerup that switches your weapon.
-
Dead Moon is the shooter which all other shooters should strive to be as solid as.

This kind of adds for a fun challenge though, especially in the final stage that goes really fast.

Did Captain Speirs really shoot 40 German prisoners??
-
I guess my "heresay" reference from Band of Brothers went unnoticed.
Looks like Air Zonk is out for the VC.
-
I've had the chance to play Neutopia recently. The Zelda knockoff aspect of it was so dead on it wasn't even funny. For Chrissakes, you even get bombs and the bloody fire wand.
That doesn't mean it's not a fun game though. I really enjoyed it, even for its knock-offishness. :)

And the more reason to throw your TV out the window.
-
Now, beat the first 2 games, & wait in anticipation for our 3rd entry in the series......that's gonna rock, & have quite a bit of originality in comparison to the first 2.
-
Ha, will do!
P.S. 600th post!!! :D
