Title: Phantasy Star demo
Post by: magnus on June 04, 2008, 09:47:27 AM
I made a little Phantasy Star demo for the PCE. It's not much yet and collision detection is missing.
It would be great if someone could post a little tutorial (huc c code) using a (fmp) map with simple collision detection.

Wow.  That is very, very cool.  I'd LOOOOOOOVE to see a Phantasy Star on the PCE.

I can't help on the coding, so I can only cheer you on.

I'm taking care of some support for HuC currently. It isn't very fast because speed comes from hand optimizing for the CPU on the PCE. Let me know if you need anything specific though (I've got a bit of experience with the ASM side of the Clib). Plus, Nodt knows his way around HuC in general probably better than anyone.

Another Phantasy Star demo for PCE  ? Anyone know what happened to that one demo that's been around since forever but never had much done to it?

Nice demo, magnus!

Do you plan on a straight port, or a remake?  :D

Actually it is just a demo. I made it to learn about PC Engine development but it might be some kind of mini sidestory.

Is there a certain time you are around?

Evenings and weekends. The channel is mainly for pc-engine development.
