Finally getting around to this one (Far East of Eden). In the second "area", level 15...grinding away. It feels like a Dragon Quest but with great cut scenes and voice. Been pretty linear so far, but's it's still early in the game, still have 10 more demon lords to defeat!  It's easy to play on a handheld while watching TV with the lady on the couch (while she looks at her Instagram).

Thank you.
Although there are sound problems (sound quality is degraded), both games and music CDs can be played.
I have used other units and the music CDs continue to play even if I perform a reset in the same way.

Are you saying that the reset signal from the controller is not being received correctly?
Do you know which pins of the expansion bus the reset signal from the PC-ENGINE unit to the SUPERCDROM2 console is sent to where (IC?)?

Since learning how to heart refresh glitch to reach the room beneath the castle gate, I've always wondered why 200.6 was considered complete.  Is there some way to reach the room legitimately that I don't know about?  The save point down there even seems kind of glitch-y so I really don't think you were intended to reach it.  Meanwhile, there are achievements in modern ports of the game for getting 200.6%.

So yeah, heart refresh glitch.  Or there's the Sword Bros. glitch to go out of bounds around the chapel towers; I feel like if it's accepted that you need to go out of bounds for sake of completion for the first, why not for the second?  You're more likely to have the Sword Bros spell + the bat transformation you need for this one.  It'll still get you the achievement regardless of getting the "correct" 200.6%.  You can get substantially more defense from Walk Armor just by going outside the chapel towers in both castles.  IIRC there's a myriad of other ways to get out of bounds for a few more percent but I never did any others so have no real opinion on them.

Hank Pim was played by Micheal Douglas in the Marvel movies.  He made the tech that Ant Man uses.

It's a Dutch name, apparently, but I've not seen it used commonly.

I'm sorry that wasn't your problem.

I honestly can't say for sure as I've never come across that exact problem in a super CD ROM2 drive before.

I've seen something similar in Duo systems though.

Does the CD drive have any issues loading games? Also, just curious if you've also tested a different PC engine or core grafx with the CD-ROM to see if that makes any difference.

if games are actually working perfectly fine, then it sounds more to me like it's not getting the correct signal from the system itself when you reset the console. Maybe there is a bad trace or resistor for the data lines coming from the expansion port in the CD drive?

I removed the BA chip to check it and found no evidence of decay or other abnormalities.
I could also check continuity with a multimeter.
I installed a new BA chip and checked the operation, but the symptoms remained unchanged.
What other possible causes could there be?

I haven't, until recently.  I looked at the back of a package of Welch's fruit snacks, and there it was: Pim Brands.
