I did enjoy Crystal Beans on the SFC, but it's still nothing in comparison to DE II!

It worked!

Following your instructions, I was able to adjust the spindle height and now it spins perfectly and without noise. In the process I actually had the spindle come completely off twice. Luckily it just pops back on so it wasn't an issue. What I found is that once I got the spindle moving a few times, it became easier and easier to eventually make smaller adjustments. A couple times I thought I had it just right but it was still off. I got lucky after around 10 tries just like you suggested and then it suddenly worked perfectly. This one is solved!

Thank you Keith!

Okay, I've had enough real-time travel now.

The Travel Options mod allows for sped up travel, but can still take some time, so you DO feel like you made the trek nonetheless, especially when combined with the Advanced Wilderness Encounters mod, Basic Roads, and whatever terrain mod you want to use.

Also, DREAM/DREAM 90s textures combined with the Hand Painted Models mod and detailed or HD sprites really bring life to the old game!

1) Exile.  Try playing the Genesis version AFTER this one, or even worse, on the MSX2, and you'll see what I mean.

2) Lords of Thunder.  The graphics still look better on the Turbo, and the lack of narration adds to the power of the music.

3) Emerald Dragon.  I heard that the FM Towns version has all the music, and the SNES one has an English translation, but the voice acting and cut scenes of the Turbo are AWESOME!!!

4) Ys IV.  I heard the SNES one is canon, but it's such a murky disappointment in comparison to the Turbo!

Okay, that's just a few.  Feel free to add any others!

There could also be a chance that the lens gain is up too high. The adjustment screw on the lens itself. This can also cause noise.
47
I?ll burn a CDR and use that to adjust the other 2 pots then. I almost don?t want to touch it since it?s finally working but it?s loud enough you can hear it over game sounds - it needs to be fixed
48
Both V103 v104 can affect the lens making a whining sound.

Turning either one clockwise can reduce this.

Whining is also usually louder if using CDR media.

Yes it does, I?ve got it reading games now. It was spinning sometimes and not others but was very unreliable and wasn?t reading

The pots (especially VR102) were way out of spec - I assume a previous owner was trying to get it to read discs and made changes. Thanks to the RetroSix adjustment guide giving me a baseline to start from it didn?t take long to get it up and running

The laser is still making a loud whining noise I believe is related to VR104 so still some adjustment to be done, but at least it?s reading

Last issue to fix is no sound and then this console is back in service

Does the lens at least bob up and down when it moves the the center of the lens assembly when you press run?
