Ohhhh, that's the bikini girl.   :icon_cat_derpy:

I don't know what practical use this is, but it's neato that people care enough to explore such esoterica and share what they find.
TG-16/TE/TurboDuo Discussion / Re: Hyperkin Controller Experience - It Sucks
« Last post by DragonmasterDan on December 19, 2021, 03:35:22 PM »
Is this Hyperkin controller at least somewhat functional after adding that 47k resistor?

If not, then it's really a shame that this product is about as bad as their simple passthrough AV out adapter for the TG16. Everywhere I've seen, it's highly not recommended to use the composite video from the TG16 expansion port as-is, it needs to be buffered correctly like how the Turbo Booster does it.

Yes, after the repair it does work. And yeah, RetroRGBob has gone on at length regarding how the hyperkin AV port accessory is out of spec and Hyperkin doesn't care.
Hello again, I'm finally getting around to ordering these components, and just was hoping some amazing person around here could confirm my parts list and answer a couple of questions?  I only started modding this year and much of this is still over my head.  ANYWAY, this is the board I ordered:

Parts List

  • 27K
  • 8.2K
  • 6.3K
  • 4.7K
  • 1K
  • 220

  • 2x MMBT3904

I've got the resistors covered, with one question.  Will a 6.2K work in place of a 6.3K?  I have one of those Resistor Bibles, and it has all the values except the 6.3K.

When it comes to the transistors, I know absolutely nothing about them.  I searched MMBT3904 at DigiKey and found these:

Will any of those work?  How do I know if their the right package size? I don't see 0805 anywhere....

Your help is much appreciated!

P.S. My new soldering iron is supposed to have arrived yesterday, but didn't.  I'm hoping to get that soon and finally try the new screen mod on the PC Engine GT.  I have already built Console5's version of this board for that, but I have 3 of these boards and wanted to finish them up for future use.  :-)

This is a 100% English translation patch for Obocchama-kun on the PC Engine.

The patch translates all the intro, end credits and sound menu text. Additionally, the title screen and several graphics have been localized as well, and a minor background restoration was performed on Level 14.

Tested and fully working on the latest versions of Magic Engine, PCEjin, Ootake, and Mednafen. See the Readme for additional details.

PC Engine/SuperGrafx Discussion / Galaxy Fraulein Yuna 2 translation

Okay, so I know this series isn't everyone's cup of tea... or even most people's, probably... But I enjoyed working on the first game, and I know at least a few people were interested in seeing this one too, so oops, here's a translation of Galaxy Fraulein Yuna 2.

Download it here:
Obligatory YouTube video:

Here's the story this time:
With the forces of darkness once again at bay, life seems to have returned to normal – or as close to normal as it gets for high school idol and galactic savior Yuna Kagurazaka. But trouble is brewing! After an unfortunate encounter with her self-proclaimed rival Erika Kousaka, Yuna accidentally summons a planet-destroying warship, the "Eternal Princess," to Earth. Now Yuna, partnering with mysterious android girl Yuri Cube, has scant days to try to take out the beacons guiding the ship before it arrives and annihilates the Earth, all while battling the deadly assassins of the "Erika 7." Is there any hope for the planet!?

Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna 2: Eien no Princess (Galaxy Fraulein Yuna 2: The Eternal Princess) is a 1995 adventure game/visual novel for the PC-Engine Super CD-ROM² system, developed by Red Company and Will and published by Hudson Soft. The sequel to the original Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, it mostly follows in its predecessor's footsteps on a larger budget, with bigger and better visuals, full voice acting, and much more polish all around.

Basically, if you liked the first game, you'll probably like this one too! If you didn't, well... uh, sorry.

This time, aside from doing the hacking, I ended up mostly handling the translation myself, though I had a lot of help. In particular, this wouldn't have turned out nearly as well as it did without the help of Mafoo343 (translator for Yuna 1), who both translated the manual and unwittingly got sucked into helping me catch a bunch of errors in the script, and TheMajinZenki, who checked over the script and pointed out some things I really should have already known ("uh, you know 'Armania' is a parody of 'Armani', right?"). cccmar and Xanathis were also there to test the game as usual; props to both of you!

Hope you enjoy!
Turbo/PCE Game/Tool Development / Re: Mindrec's Mix 4 (new collection)

Sweet!  I'm always happy to hear of new homebrews, and here's four of 'em!

I can't think of anything clever for the name, but I'm partial to MC4 or something similar.  It should be 4 or IV, though, and not IIII..... unless you can unlock a fifth game that will redraw it with a \ through it.   :pcgs:
