I'm 50 stars into Mario 64, and I'm honestly not sure I want to finish it. I'm torn over how to feel about the game.

I was never that crazy about Mario 64 either. I like it, but it's never held my interest long enough to beat it. I don't like 3d platformers in general.

That being said, if you have a Wii try out Super Mario Galaxy. I hate the genre, but I LOVE THIS GAME. It's the only game in the last few years that I've actually 100%'ed.

I never really liked Mario 64. I didn't play it at launch so that might have something to do with it lacking the newness of a 3D Mario.

I 120 starred Mario 64 when it came out and then I did it again with the DS remake.  In my opinion the game is awesome and it still holds up pretty well today.

HOWEVER, if I didn't play it on launch day after so much anticipation...  perhaps I would feel differently.  Nostalgia has definitely weighed in on my liking of the game.

The best games to try out 3D with would be Superman 64, Bubsy 3D, & Superman 64, you must play that game twice, trust me!!

My friends all got the game right when it came out on their N64s, and I thought the game was dumb as shit.  The whole game felt awkward and annoyed me, so I went back to playing SMW, and all of my sweet playstation games.

Ditto.  SMG is truly fantastic.  One of the few wii games that kept me coming back for long stretches.  This and "Skate It" are the only two wii games I have completed more than once.
