It's a odd unique RPG in its own nature, I own both English SNES and JPN PC Engine versions. So which version do you think is better? It's a 2 way street depending on what aspects they are:

I actually like the SNES version better. You can change controls, and the view options.

Hehe, there is no English PC Engine version. ;)

I love Brandish. It is one of my favorite games. Of course the SNES version is the best one. Not only because of the better graphics, but also because of the better controls, etc.

The music is among the best I've heard in any game. I also love the backtracking that gets involved later in the game.

I recently got Brandish 2 for MS-DOS (Chinese version). Thanks a lot Black Tiger.  :D

I haven't played it that much but it is awesome.

Too bad only Brandish 1 is available in English since Brandish 1-3 are linked together (Brandish 2 takes place directly after the first and Brandish 3 takes place after the second game).

Brandish 4 isn't part of this trilogy. I haven't played it but I've heard it is pretty similiar.

I know, notice I put JPN next to it.

Brandish 2 Expert had a kick ass soundtrack though. But i never knew there was a part 3. What system is that on?

Oh it DID say SNES. I didn't notice that, hehe. My bad.

You're playing Brandish 2 Expert? There's a "regular" version too, you know. Brandish 2: The Planet Buster (for SFC).

Oh yes there's a Brandish 3 all right. For its original system: NEC PC-9801. All four games originated on that system. The fourth game was originally called Brandish VT, but was later released on Windows as Brandish 4.

There's also Brandish Renewal and Brandish 2 Renewal, enhanced versions of the two first games. These were also released on the PC-9801 computer systems.

And yes, Brandish 2 does have an incredible soundtrack.  :)
