The New Splatterhouse is AWESOME... so why does everyone else hate it?

yeah it looks like alot of fun. So far sounds like one worth checking out. I am buying my first famicom game, and this thread got me thinking it should be some more splatterhouse? =)

Try Akumajou Special-Boku Dracula-kun also know as dracula kid.

I just picked up Dracula Kid a few months ago. Pretty cool game.

It's most similar to a Zelda II , a Blood Gear, or a War of the Dead. It's got a mix of top-down RPG gameplay and sidescrolling action sequences.

Splatterhouse 1 is arcade.

Assuming it's emulated properly.  Splatterhouse in MAME is a poor emulation of the real
hardware.  Your typical MAME player wouldn't be able to tell the difference of course,
but after spending a lot of time with the original PCB, the differences are very obvious.

I only played the first stage so far for my Splatterhouse on PS3...  it was pretty meh.  Camera was terrible, controls were pretty bad, the humor was not funny...  I guess I am in the minority here.  I am going to really have to fight to put this one back in the system, especially with NBA Jam coming in at the same time.

BTW, just to prove I am not always talking crap, I really do enjoy Kid Dracula on Famicom.

I know, I had he PCB myself back in the 90s. Respectively I still own it, but ain't able to play it for a long time.
