Kings Bounty
« on: July 10, 2011, 04:19:59 AM »
Did anyone play Kings Bounty the origional game? It was out on PC, Snes and Sega Mega Driver (possibly amiga and others also)

I loved this and I remember finding it really challanging at first, but then going on to complete it later in life!

This game set the tone for the excellent heros of might and magic series. There has been some other kings bounty games recently. I wonder if they are any good?

I absolutely loved Kings Bounty and the first three Heroes of Might and Magic games that followed.  I did not care as much for Heroes 4 or 5 however.  And the new kings bounty, while decent in its own right, didnt grab me like the other games did.  Its worth a try as it is quite inexpensive.

I just picked up a nice copy of kings bounty on ebay complete for $4 as a gift for a friend. He loves it and beat it within a week. He was showing the game to me the other day. It's not my kind of game but I did really enjoy the music.

I just noticed that heros of might and magic 6 is out in Sept! Im going to buy it and give it a whirl - I'll probably wait until november and pick it up for about £10 tho, rather than buying on release...

Yeah and wait for the bugs to worked out some.. Thats what burned me on Heroes 5...  that and the lack of working multiplayer on release.  #-o  My dad and I still play Heroes 3 multiplayer.

comparing it to games these days its strange that it has a time(turn) limit to complete the game in... so much more of a challange. any game like this without a time limit you know eventually you'll beat it. with this one you can get right up to the final level but if you have fannyed around too much in the earlier contenents then your screwed! love it!

Or worse.... you get a few ghosts that turn into too many ghosts and BOOM you're screwed and have a terrible horde of ghosts floating around somewhere

Love this game. I got it for Genesis when I was a kid, but had no idea how to play it for years. It would always sit on the shelf as that strange game you'd pop in on a boring afternoon, I got hooked once I figured it out. I had avatars of all the villians when my site was up.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
