The evolution of game controllers

http://popchartlab.com/index.php/poster_detail/the_evolution_of_video_game_controllers/

while I have a few issues with how they relate what to what, it's still a pretty awesome poster.

That's cool, but the artwork kind of sucks.  If it were in color with better artwork, I might pick one up.

Too bad it skips arcade controls, as they were the real origins of most control methods.

I like it.. someone put in a lot of time to make that.. but I can see a whole bunch of controllers missing from other years and systems

They pretty much hit a dead end on consoles, but where's the mice?

Yeah, it seems to say that the 2600 was the origin of the joystick...which is wasn't. Obviously the joystick has its origins in things non-video game, but even in the realm of video games, there were other sticks first.

Why is the OG XBox pad shown so large? Is it supposed to be extra significant or something? Evolution-wise its really just an HK bootleg DC pad, and the system was pretty much a flop compared to the 360, so why are the DC and, Controller S (which quickly replaced the OG Xbox pad), and 360 pads shown smaller?

Overall I'd say its nice, and I like the design/art apart form how badly they drew Playstation controllers. I won't be getting one though, obviously.

Hahahahhahaaha. I'm still trying to figure out if you are being sarcastic or not. :)

Anyway, if the poster included the TG-16 and focused less on controllers, I might consider buying it as well.

.., if the poster included the TG-16...

There is a TG-16 controller on there and a PC-FX pad too.

Hmm, I would like a color one.  But given that my second hobby beside obeying is playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I kinda like this!

including Up To Jump, which did not translate well in Console land.
