Namco Game Party arcade cabinet thing
« on: September 30, 2011, 05:01:26 PM »
I will post pics eventually.

Anyway, I was at the movies today and first, I was pissed that the Galaga and Xmen machines were gone.

Then I saw a Tron Legacy pinball cabinet and went "oh ok!" and started playing, and remembered that I hate pinball.

then I was like "what the f*ck is that. I shouldn't be hearing Dragon Spirit right now. Do I have a tumor?"

Then I look over and there is some Namco OMG game party multigame cabinet and I was like ohhhh f*ck.

After I finished peeing myself, I cycled the games.

Bosconian, Xevious, Dragon Spirit (WTF?!), Rolling Thunder (=3), Galaga 88 (not 90!), Galaxian, Pac Man, Pac Mania, Rally X, Dig Dug.... I swear that there was another.

so anyway I fire up Dragon Spirit, all pumped to plow through the game while all the crip gangsta wigger white kids were thugging it out on the airhockey table waiting for mommy to come pick them up and drop them off at Dennys.

all my excitement was drained in seconds.  The controls are beyond halfass.  If you crank on the joystick like you would in any shooter to dodge bullets, you go f*ckin nowhere.  You just jerk around.   You'd get more precision shaving your balls with a chainsaw.

The fire/bomb buttons don't register well either if you start mashing it fast.

I was pissed.  It was so bad (the joystick) that I had issues selecting my initials at the high score screen.

Seriously, that shit is pathetic.  How do you release a cabinet with tons of sweet games and then screw it all up with a dipshit joystick that doesn't work.  It reminds me of those plug-into-tv Namco controllers with alot of the same games.  The games all suck because its like some clicky retarded joystick that doesn't allow you to smoothly throw it around diagonally.

AND costs 50 cents to play.  f f s.

Good thing I have the Turbob glory here.  It doesn't disappoint, unless you're that one pole smoker.  dddd9er or whatever.

so angry.

Yeah if they would make the controller not a frigging joke, it would be really awesome.

It's really terrible if you can't have accurate 360* control in games like Dragon Spirit or Xevious.

The funniest part is when they try to act all hard while playing air hockey in a movie theater.  Everyone knows bloods dont play air hockey.  They fling knives at each over across a table while drinking colt 45

Normally I would agree, but he makes up for this by championing all sorts of unloved piece of shit games (Hylide, for example) so he does his part for the underdog.

The question now is, does Arkhan like Alien Crush and Devil's Crush?  Or my personal favorite underdog, Time Cruise.

It would an odd combination, to dislike physical pinball, but to like digital pinball.

Have you considered the possibility that some f*ckstick before you tore the controls to pieces? possibly even one of those wangsters?

But it is also possible they just stuck one of those TV game things in a cabinet and called it an arcade. They'd only need a handful of suckers to make it profitable.
