Duh. The game's from Japan - the land of sexism.

Wrong, Seldane!  That's not sexist, as all elves have big breasts..... wait, I'm thinking ears..... never mind.  #-o

Ys Origin is shit. Period. Easily the worst game of 2006. Beware.

And yeah, GUTS is right. Those horrible blurry sprites used in the PC versions are awful and a big factor to why those games suck so much. Fortunately, they removed them in the PS2 version, which is great except for the mad loading times.

Unfortunately, Taito is still in business, and they're still torturing us with more and more abysmal games. Hopefully they'll go bankrupt soon.

Yup, that's Seldane for you :)  One of the more hilarious posts I've read, never know when he's kidding, or serious.  Oh well.  Ys Origin rocks!

Now that I think about it, if you ask other "current" Ys fans, like say, Deuce, they'll tell you, that Ark of Napishtim is decent, but the music is just meh, while Oath in Felghana & Origin, just plain rock!

I remember seeing a trailer for Felghana a couple years back and enjoying the direction the music took, even though I still didn't find it to be as up to par with TGCD version. I definitely want to play both Felghana and Origins though!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
