That's just plain crazy (the VGA graded Zelda is equally nutty), especially since there's no proof of it being legit.  Other than needing plenty of upfront cash, what would stop someone from making hundreds of these things?

Well if you look at the PCB it looks pretty legit but I suppose you could fake that too.

In case your post wasn't sarcastic, I forgot to install sarcasm detector this morning.  Easy challenge accepted.

Air Raid for Atari 2600. Someone sold a boxed version on eBay for $300k.  AFAIK only only 12 or so Air Raid are known to exists worldwide, and only 1 boxed.

I suspect buyer's remorse on that purchase

Yes it was, I was quoting his listing lol. And whoever thought that spending $300K for Air Raid was a great deal needs to purchase this VGA Graded sealed copy I have lol.

People being willing to pay these prices help fuel this kind of insanity.  Oh well.

Sold for $55,000.00!

Love one of the questions that was posted:

"Q:     Just wondering if I should buy a house + a car...or spend the money on a 30 year old game cartridge. Hmm tough decisions...TOUGH DECISIONS!"

You could probably manufacture one that looks perfectly authentic at less than the price it sold for. Then sell it.
