dingsbums, most everyone with a Famicom has played Armadillo.

Most of these people thought they were playing "Mario 4."

While I also rather enjoy this game, if you're planning on buying physical carts, keep in mind that this game is very short and easy.  I beat it the day I got it in around a half hour.

So I've been stupidly addicted to this game. It is really easy but the design and overall art direction rocks.

Holy Diver is another one that I keep going back to. It's hard as nails until you start understanding the enemy patterns, and even then, but it's a blast to play.
