ya doesnt sound like it would be worth it at all - guess it will just go on a shelf and become a show piece - what a waste of a great system!  have to hunt down another i suppose

do you only need another one because you want to fit it with the cd-rom briefcase color (white to white)?

then you could try to exchange the casing from the core I / II you have with the white non-working one  :)

ya the shell is actually in great shape - bright white - maybe i will find an old dirty yellow one that works for cheap and swap it out

Just to rule something out did you try it with an rf switch from the console itself (no ifu?) An nes gray-box rf switch should work.
