I didn't recommend Time Soldiers (SMS) because it is so different than the arcade original I loved playing back in the day.

Personally, the SMS game should be given a different title, then I would be happier. It is a mediocre SMS game, and is NOT WORTHY of the honorable Time Soldiers name.

Time Soldiers = one of my favorite games in middle school. Local deli had it. So much fun. I think it replaced Robocop, which I loved playing because I could beat it on a quarter. I don't think I ever beat Time Soldiers on only one quarter (but I could get damn far).

Dual rotating sticks were so friggin' sweet, the constant warping to different eras is a concept that WOULD STILL BE AWESOME TODAY. At least, for me, anyway.

After looking at some gameplay of Bomber Raid, I am grabbing that one too. It looks solid. :)

That's why I mentioned TransBot...I had a feeling you might want to play all the shootemups, even if they are not groundbreaking...I picked up Bomber Raid from majors recently*

* "recently" in my world translates --> two years ago.

I will probably skip Transbot. It's not a long game at all, more of a early tech demo, not really worth the asking price. If they would have given the game a couple more levels it would have been cool. Bomber Raid just looks solid, so I am sure I will enjoy it.

Transbot is the best Master System game on a chip rather than cart, but imo, it's still not worth buying. I got it, played it, shrugged, and sold it.

I love Ghost House and Spy vs Spy. Transbot I can just look at and tell it wont do anything for me because it is too limited as a shooter.

^ I assumed TransBot would be dirt cheap. Ha! I guess I should have checked prices.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have an OCD compulsion to play every single shoot-em-up, no matter how crappy/simplistic.

Thankfully: Spy vs. Spy & Ghost House :)

Guys, I have a question:

I'd really like to get "Renegade" or "Target: Renegade" but I read the MS version is supposedly vastly superior to the NES one.
Problem: I've never ever seen it for sale. Does it really exist?

Granted, I don't check eBay too often since I much rather buy within communities and forums, but considering I've been on the lookout for it for what?....three years now? I think it should've popped up at least once.
Really strange.

Pretty much the same here.

Yes, but if you never played it, wouldn't you still be curious about it? :)

I know I have problems, though, because I want to play all the mini-game/hidden shootemups found in games, too.

Like, in Somer Assault/Mesopotamia, there is a hidden game.

I believe they're the same game, actually. Sometimes it's called "Renegade" and sometimes "Target: Renegade".

And wow, it's on eBay indeed. It wasn't when I last looked, but that was a while ago. Still hoping I'll find it on some forum someday but it's good to know that they do appear on eBay from time to time. Thanks!

No. They are two different games. Renegade on MS is a enhanced port of the original arcade game. Target, on Nes and Euro computers is just a eurotrash sequel.

Oh, I was ever since I saw the placard at TRU bitd. Of course "Transbot" and "Transformers" was on my mind, the fact that  it mentions transformations on the back of the box had me. I only picked it up a few years ago to quench my intrigue, but alas...repetitive game play, timed special weapons and the weapon roulette?! Reminded my of the Macross game on FC.

Ha! I have a Macross game for Famicom (repetitive).

But, there is some other, better mech game, around same vintage as the Macross game...you can walk on land, fly as jet, etc.

Anyway, TransBot is nothing special...but I'm not getting rid of it.
