Finished it yesterday; I came in with low expectations but ended up really liking it, it's definitely on par with official Metroid games. I wish Nintendo didn't take it down :?

I'm at 57% three hours in, and completely blown away so far.

I downloaded it shortly after it released and only spent a few minutes with it, but I was impressed. I hope to put more time into it.

I downloaded it when it first came and spent just a few minutes with it, but I was impressed. I hope to put more time into it.

Yeah, I've decided I'm gonna take the distraction and beat it after I build up my new Windows installation, copy over all my legacy work/music/game folders, install my usual favorite software, etc.

Went ahead and upgraded from Vista 32-bit after ~8 years on this old AMD Triple-Core 2.1 GHz PC workhorse to...Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Finally got it stable, it was tough to get all the hundreds of Microsoft patches installed at once, had crashes doing it, unknown failures, even the update agent gets broken after a clean install of Win 7 Service Pack 1 which required much research on what patch to find to fix it...

Anyway, I tried the game again on my new set up, worked with no problems whatsoever. Felghana crashes (but that's on me, I can probably fix it), Ys VI works (both DirectX8-9 games), Ys I & II  Complete which are older DirectX5 games have palette problems no matter what compatibility settings you try though.

I've been toying with putting Ubuntu on an old AMD Athlon X2 pc I have.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I will try to make it work tonight!

Is this an emu game? I don't know very much about emulators.

Quick edit:

"Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist."
...

So how do you get this to work? Do you have to buy it? Or did nintendo already nuke this project and stop all downloads?

I just found out about Wineskin for this on the mac. I can't seem to get controller support so I need to get the controller keyboard mapped. It has been a while since I did that. I forget how to do the controller keyboard mapping.

Finished it the other night on Normal: 83%, 5:08. Fantastic game, definitely fits right in with the last few 2D Metroid releases in quality, challenge, and polish. This is what Nintendo should've released for the DS.

And now, hard mode.

It said that downloads were stopped because of cease and desist letters. Can you still get the game? What is the process?
