GT headphone socket part number?
« on: June 18, 2020, 06:42:18 AM »
Hello
I have a GT with sound issue.
I checked the headphone socket and it seems to be wrong.
Does anybody know the part number or a replacement part for this?
Thanks

You need an 8 pin switching headphone jack, I found some on Ebay that were a perfect fit internally but had a slight wider socket so I had to file them down.

The headphone jack seems to be a bit of  a weak spot, I bought 2 GTs recently and both had bad sockets. If anyone knows of a source for exact parts, I'd like to know (Keith? you are a font of knowledge on this console aren't you!)

I've never been able to find exact Replacements that fit perfectly. There are however some that work great but that do require the opening for the headphone opening on the case to be drilled slightly larger since they are just a little bit bigger than the originals. https://www.ebay.com/itm/15Pcs-PCB-Mount-3-5mm-8-Pin-Socket-Stereo-Jack-Audio-Video-Connector-PJ-3F07-8P/233173542714?hash=item364a39e73a:g:7-UAAOSwV3Jenr4W

Looks like they are the same as gamegear headphone jacks. So these should work as well https://console5.com/store/game-gear-replacement-headphone-jack.html Once again, still having to drill out the opening on the case slightly.
