PC Engine GT / Turbo Express - Audio fcc cable replacement

Hi all,

My flat, after decades, has some weak connection.
I solved it soldering an enamel wire but I'm wondering if I should replace it completely and which part is needed.
I can also maybe just pass one enamel wire per connection of the flat cable...

What do you suggest?

Replace the existing cable with an FFC connector and flat cable - look at how Tawy has done this on his replacement controller boards.
